Artifacts of Alteration
2016
Artifacts of Alteration is a series of self-portraits created from multiple materials which explore the disconnect between inner and outer identity and identity’s multiple features.
The series uses abstract, physically manipulated photographs to investigate fluctuations in one’s identity. Utilizing self-portraiture as a starting point, the layers of tactile, three-dimensional materials and worn two-dimensional surfaces seek to visualize the intangible complexity of an identity.
