Despite this, I feel deeply connected to their life stories. Digitally combining archival family photographs with self-portraits taken to match the original pose and lighting of each photograph, the resulting imagery is haunting and blurs the lines of reality, repeatedly showcasing visual genetic similarities and dissimilarities, creating subtle alterations but also containing a constant; myself. This series resulted in a book, also titled Komplikovani Identiteti, that was acquired by TMU Library and Special Collections in 2016.
